An outward sign of the inward transformation Jesus brings.
Buried with Him. Raised to new life.
Water baptism is a public declaration of an inward change that has taken place through accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Our favourite spot is Kings Beach, Caloundra.

Jesus was baptised, and He asks His followers to do the same.
Baptizo means to immerse. It pictures a complete death and new life.
The only requirement is faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation comes first. Baptism celebrates it.
Getting baptised does not save you. Salvation is a free gift from God, received through faith in Jesus. We get baptised because we have already received that gift.
Water baptism is a symbol of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. We enter the water just as we are, clothed in our old life with its habits and mindsets. Being lowered into the water by someone else is a picture of willingly yielding our life to God.
The water is like a grave. As you go under, your old self is buried, just as Jesus was buried. As you rise, you come up as a brand new creation, free from the guilt and shame of the past.
The water isn't magic. But like everything in the Christian life, baptism is a powerful act of faith, and faith pleases our Father. To keep growing in your new identity, read who am I in Christ.
"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4 (NKJV)
Your questions answered.
Why do people get water baptised?
Most believers feel compelled to take this step once they understand what it means. Above all, we follow the example of Jesus, who was baptised in the Jordan River (Mark 1:9 to 11), and we obey His command to make disciples and baptise them (Matthew 28:19).
Why full immersion and not sprinkling?
The Greek word baptizo means to immerse, submerge or overwhelm. Jesus came up out of the water (Mark 1:10). And just as His death and resurrection were complete, full immersion pictures the fullness of the new life we receive.
Can children be baptised?
Yes, when they can make their own conscious decision to believe in Jesus and take this step of faith. This is different from a baby dedication, where parents present their child to God.
Where and when do baptisms happen?
Baptisms can happen in a pool, a river or the ocean. Our favourite spot is Kings Beach in Caloundra. Register your interest and we'll let you know when the next baptism is on.
What should I expect afterwards?
Straight after His baptism, Jesus was led into the wilderness and tempted. Don't be surprised by challenges. Keep your eyes on Jesus. What lies ahead is a life full of His power and purpose.
"You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Mark 1:11 (NKJV)
